Peacock Cake Topper

I absolutely love the colors on the tail of this peacock cake. Animal toppers are such a fun and in this case classy way to top off a cake! The rich blues and purples are the perfect compliment to the semi translucent shimmer of the gelatin this figure is made of.
Would be the perfect way to top any number of cakes!!
One more of the tail, just because it's so perty :)

Hawaiian Plumeria Cake

I love a good frangipani flower! I've tried 3 times now to grow one of my own. The first attempt, my beagle ate. Second died from aphids. My third attempt actually ended up getting 2 new buds and I anticipated flowers from it the next season, until it became infested with
mites during a winter indoors.
I think I many have given up growing my own, but at least I can enjoy them out of gumpaste and make them for cakes once in awhile! This cake was fun because of the new medium that allows you to turn wafer paper into a flexible fun grass skirt!

Baby Elephant and Balloon Party

I knew when I bought those cute little elephant cookie cutters last summer, that one day out of the blue I would need them! And, viola! One day- was this weekend! Yippee! It was fun to put together this cute little set of items for the little man's Baby Elephant and Red Balloon 1st birthday party
Started with baby elephant sugar cookies,
and added some red ballon sugar cookie pops~
 all wrapped up to go!

what a fun pop of color in those gumballs!
and finished off with the sweet baby elephant smash cake! I love the colors with the blue, gray and pop of red to color it up! What a sweet little theme for a baby's first birthday!

Fancy Valentine's Day Family Dinner and Activities!

My daughter has become aware this year that when there is a special holiday, mom and dad get to go somewhere fancy to eat and she does not get to go. We took her to the Melting Pot for her birthday dinner this year and I fear that was the end! When Valentine's week approached, she was extremely unhappy that she felt she deserved to go out to have a special Valentine's dinner with us as well, because she "wanted to love us at Valentine's Day too". This melted my heart, so I promised her that she and I would plan a special Valentine's Dinner for the family. I had so much doing this with her, and it actually ended being a very memorable night for all!
I found these "love books" online and loved the idea of each of us writing what we loved about each other and reading it over dinner, so i made one for each and even had us do one to give the grandparents as a Valentine's Day gift :) They were really fun to read through. I thought they looked especially "fancy" against these adorable "chalkboard" (basically black paper) paper placemats which I decorated with a chalkboard pen.
This pomegranate molasses sweet bread was beautiful and delicious!!!
must have valentine's macarons, of course!
 asparagus and potato roses
 My co- planner :)
Happy Valentine's Day to you!

High Tea Time- Tea Party

I was so excited when the request came through for an authentic High Tea British Style tea party dessert table, not to mention that it was for a good friend which made it even more fun! I spent a few weeks researching authentic tea cakes and other styles to use in conjunction with my clients desired food requests. I was so pleased with how cute everything turned out! What a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon, lucky guests!!
Traditional Battenberg Cake, similar to a butter cake or pound cake. It is served in a checkerboard pattern, with each layer generously covered in apricot preserves then the cake is wrapped in marzipan. I found this panthat made it super fast and super easy to make sure each of my layers were the exact same length depth and size
It was especially helpful since butter cake batter is so dense. I have found so many cute and fun uses for it in my children's cakes as well!

mini s'mores cupcakes made with a graham cracker and chocolate chunk crust on the bottom, then sprinkled on the top of the cupcake. Topped in a chocolate marshmallow frosting and finished with a toasted mini marshmallow, courtesy of my lovely chef's torch!
French vanilla and raspberry petit fours
Traditional tea scones, in plain flavor and cranberry orange. I love this little scone panof mine!

Rustic Baby Wedding Cake

Fun idea for an anniversary- a mini replica of your wedding cake! So cute and tiny, this cake stood 4 inches tall and was topped with yummy chocolate ganache drizzled over the tops of each tier.
And the anniversary couple with their cute little baby cake!

Doc McStuffins Birthday Party

Can't believe my little girl is already 4! It was so fun to put together the Doc McStuffin's party she's been asking for since October! It's been fun to put together ideas with her and look for fun activities with her, she was so fun to plan with :) (given that 4 year olds want to do everything they see :) Enjoy the tour of our party!

::The Set Up::

          the birthday girl
Check In
Upon "check-in" doctors were given their big book of boo boo's, with a check up list inside
for their toys and syringe pens to take notes.
They were also told to bring their favorite toy for a check up, and were given patient
wrist bands for their toy patients.
Little doctors were given their lab coats, stethescopes, tongue depressors and girls were given a clip in flower for their hair, like Doc's
                                                                 The Locker Room
On their way into the clinic, they were told to pick a patient from our basket of unstuffed animals , that they could later stuff and have a new "patient" to examine and go home with.
       Our Clinic
Each doctor was given a bag of "stuffy's stuffin'" to stuff their new patient

After the doc's stuffed their new patient and did its check up, they were given a birth certificate and diploma from McStuffins University!

::The Food::
 Vanilla Almond Sugar Cookies
White Chocolate "Bandaids"
Chocolate Covered Oreos
These were a popular item! Strawberry Jello Syringes. I used large ones so that the little ones would be able to do them alone. I was able to find them here.
A must have- Hugs and Kisses for your boo-boos!
                                                                 Lambie's Fluff  (cotton candy)
Cherry Chip Cupcakes
Marshmallow and Chocolate "Cotton Swabs"
                                            White Chocolate Covered Pretzel "Thermometers"
Vanilla Wafer "Bandaids" with Icing Hearts
                                                  Raspberry and Cream Macaron "Lozenges"
Little Milk and Juice Bottles for the Doc's
(Perfect because they have lids and a hole for straws= clean floors for me!)  I purchased these on Etsy, but I have also purchased them here.
Chilly's Cucumber Limeade
(Always a favorite at our parties, nice and fresh even in the middle of winter!)
Doc's Bag Cake

                                                                   ::The Party::
little doc's giving their toys a checkup, aided by the "nurse"
doc's stuffing their new patients
Cake Bag & Doc Bag
Getting ready to blow out the candles!
Must have a piñata of course
When leaving, each doc received a box with some bandaid gum which was surprisingly hard to find,
pink and purple gum balls, bracelets and some goodies as well as a door tag with the "doc is in" on one side and the "doc is out" on the other to color. Then each guest received a wrapped candy bar
as a thank you!
