Peacock Cake Topper

I absolutely love the colors on the tail of this peacock cake. Animal toppers are such a fun and in this case classy way to top off a cake! The rich blues and purples are the perfect compliment to the semi translucent shimmer of the gelatin this figure is made of.
Would be the perfect way to top any number of cakes!!
One more of the tail, just because it's so perty :)

Gold Fantasy Flower Cake

I love finding a cake design that works well in a number of venues, this one does that! I love a good gold accent piece, but really love the way these gold lace flowers look to dress up a cake!
Even more, I love that it looks good and even a little different in many settings!
I love how warm it looks in a more rustic amber lighting,
As well as how fun it is pool side with some foliage beside it. The bionic cake design!

Hawaiian Plumeria Cake

I love a good frangipani flower! I've tried 3 times now to grow one of my own. The first attempt, my beagle ate. Second died from aphids. My third attempt actually ended up getting 2 new buds and I anticipated flowers from it the next season, until it became infested with
mites during a winter indoors.
I think I many have given up growing my own, but at least I can enjoy them out of gumpaste and make them for cakes once in awhile! This cake was fun because of the new medium that allows you to turn wafer paper into a flexible fun grass skirt!

Simple Island Elegance

There is something so classic and beautiful about a cake covered in orchids isn't there? I loved the idea of a simple and classic cake for the pre wedding celebrations for the daughter of my friend. Her wedding was to be in Hawaii, but her mom wanted to do something special for her daughter before they all left for trip.
Forgive my kitchen background! There wasn't a chance to photograph it. I love white buttercream cakes with traditional purple orchids, just like the traditional island cakes. It's such an understated but classic look. The cake itself was a french vanilla cake with raspberry filling, to tie it all in i added a touch of clear raspberry oil to the almond buttercream, and can I just tell you how wonderful my kitchen smelled when it was all mixing up? MMMMMMMM

Classic Navy & Gold Celebration

When asked to make a navy and gold themed cake and macarons for my sister's 20th birthday party, my first thought was "is it a nautical party?"
Well, this was much more fun to make than a cake with an anchor and ropes!
Always fun to make brightly colored macarons, especially in French Vanilla and Lemon flavors, mmmm; and what is better than a brush of gold on top!
I absolutely loved the rich tones of the navy flower and how the gold just made it pop!
I just couldn't get enough pictures! I loved the gold and blue!
I decided Navy and Gold were the perfect combo for a classy party dessert table!

Quick Yet Beautiful Wedding

I was so so happy to be able to make this beautiful wedding cake. Long story, short... I was committed to this wedding cake for a date in mid November. I received a call from a friend on Monday ( it was her mother's wedding cake) and they had just found out her mother had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer and would be beginning treatment soon so they had decided to have the wedding that Wednessday evening and was asking if I would be able to do the cake still, but in one day. It was a stressful day but I was so grateful to be have the availability to make it happen. I was so happy with how beautiful the cake turned out. I especially loved the sweet little pink bow for breast cancer awareness around the bottom. I wish her and her sweet family many prayers and best wishes during the coming months.

Beautiful Summer Wedding

It is so much fun to do the cakes and deserts for weddings, but it is even better when the wedding is for your little sis! For her wedding, she wanted style she wanted to do a simple but classic cake in white buttercream, since neither of them cared much for fondant, and then she wanted to pair it with a desert table featuring some cupcake jars I had made the previous summer and cake pops-which her fiancé loves! Unfortunately the cupcakes I had done were a cream cheese frosting, and the venue didn't have a refrigerator, so we just did a basic buttercream frosting, but they were still yummy! Here are some pics from the beautiful, and yummy day!!

Bachelorette Cookies

These cute little cookies were made for my little sis' bachelorette party! Her colors were orange and turquoise, very summery! They were an almond sugar cookie with a lemon/vanilla icing.
Lingerie cutters can be hard to find, here is the one I found! The panties are just heart cookie cutters with the bottom cut off!

Springtime Bridal Shower

Spring is such a beautiful time for an outdoor shower! I was so glad that my sister's bridal shower would be able to be held right when the flowers were coming out, but before it got too warm to enjoy being outside for awhile! We were lucky to have such a beautiful day! The color theme for the shower came from her invitations, which were perfect for a springtime theme!
Guests were asked in advance to bring their favorite recipe on a matching card to place in the recipe box we had on the guest table once they arrived. They were also invited to leave a few words of advice for the bride, as well as write an idea for a fun date night activity on a stick for the bride and groom before going to their seats for lunch.
Guests were then given time to visit and fill out the quick bride quiz and "purse game" questions until all the guests had arrived.
The lunch menu was our Slider Bar and dessert table. Guests created their own sliders, custom grilled by my wonderful husband, nice enough to offer his Saturday for the event, then they were able to visit the dessert table, filled with the brides favorite goodies and treats. Among them were Cherry Chip Cupcakes, Almond Sugar Cookies, Pistachio Macarons, White Chocolate and Lemon Truffle Balls, Cucumber Limeade, Blackberry Mint water and an assortment of her favorite candies.

Games, gifts and fun were had by all, and as a parting gift; all guests received either a orange dreamsicle sugar scrub (which smelled divine) or a pink lemonade sugar scrub as a parting gift! What a fun shower to host!
