Frozen Themed Buttercream Cake

I have wanted to do a Frozen themed cake, so I was thrilled when asked. Since it was somewhat short notice, I did it in buttercream due to the fact that I didn't have time to mix up a batch of fondant. But I was thrilled with the simple yet sweet look it turned out with! It is super hard to find small Frozen themed figurines right now, but these were the perfect size and shipped quite fast!
I loved the idea of using Isomalt to make "ice" structures. I just love the look Isomalt creates for things like ice and glass, even flames, and the nibs are so easy to use! I just used a few into a silicone measuring cup, CakePlay has a great set I love, and melted it in the microwave for a minute or so. Once it is all melted, just add the food coloring, I used Americolor sky blue, then slowly pour it out over a silpat mat, or tinfoil sprayed with Pam. Once it hardens, you can break it into these fun pieces!!
Easy Peasy!  Perfect for a little girl!

Little Man in a Tie

We enjoyed celebrating our little guys special blessing day. We were surrounded by our family and close friends which made the day even more special! Many came from far away, so we made sure to feed everyone to thank them for joining us. We set up a slider hamburger bar and a nice dessert table, as well as many of the other delights people offered to bring! Here are some fun photos of Christians special day.

Turning 1!

What sweet little birthday girl! I was so happy to be asked to do a little smash cake for Brielle's 1st birthday, and these pics are just adorable! I love how the beige cake stands out against her adorable pink outfit!
